Golf Ranch Glendale's $10,000 Hole-in-One Challenge runs November 5 to 8, 9 AM to 10 PM, as part of Grand Reopening Week. Entry is free with no purchase needed: register online, check in at the front desk, and take one swing a day at a 160-yard hole. First verified ace takes the $10K.

LIVE NOW: The $10K Hole-in-One Challenge is running at Golf Ranch Glendale through Sunday, November 8.
Free to enter, 9 AM to 10 PM daily. Get directions | Register for free

One swing, 160 yards, and ten thousand dollars

That's the whole pitch, and it's why the $10,000 Hole-in-One Challenge is the loudest thing happening at Golf Ranch Glendale this week. It's free to enter, it runs 9 AM to 10 PM every day from Thursday, November 5 through Sunday, November 8, and it caps off Grand Reopening Week.

Here's the twist that keeps it interesting all weekend: if somebody claims the $10K on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, a $2,000 bonus pool unlocks for anyone else who aces it before Sunday's close. So even if the big check is gone, the hole still pays.

We'll update this post every day of the challenge. Bookmark it.

What's on the line

Quick checklist for the challenge

  • A 160-yard target hole, one green, an official watching, and a camera rolling to make it count
  • One free swing per entrant per day, so up to four swings across the week
  • A free warm-up bucket for first-time visitors to Golf Ranch Glendale
  • A $2,000 bonus pool that splits evenly among later aces, but only if the $10K is won Thursday through Saturday
  • Open 9 AM to 10 PM, November 5 to 8, with the challenge station staffed all four days

Nobody needs a membership, a bucket, or a tee time to take a swing. You do need to be 18 or older and registered.

Day 1 Recap: Thursday, November 5

Here's how it started. We announced the challenge, and Glendale noticed.

Challenge announcement

Then we had to build the thing. A hole-in-one challenge needs a target worth aiming at, and you can watch the crew put ours together in two parts.

Building our target, Pt. 1

Building our target, Pt. 2

Thursday the first golfers walked up, checked in, and took their shot. Nobody holed it on Day 1. Somebody got close, though.

Our closest attempt of Day 1

Here's the honest part about a 160-yard ace: it's supposed to be hard. Aces are rare for a reason.

So if you missed Thursday, you didn't lose. You learned. You now know what your 160 club does with a little pressure on it, and that's more than most golfers find out all season. Win or learn.

Day 2 & 3 Updates

The challenge is live right now and runs through Sunday, November 8. Every day you show up is another free swing at it.

Come take your shot at Golf Ranch Glendale, 8710 W Maryland Ave, Glendale, AZ 85305 · 9 AM to 10 PM through Sunday.

We'll add each day's recap here as the challenge rolls on.

How to enter

Five minutes of setup, one swing a day. Here's the whole process:

  1. Register for free. Sign up on the challenge page. One registration covers all four days, and we'll text you a confirmation.
  2. Show up between 9 AM and 10 PM, any day from November 5 to 8, and check in at the front desk at Golf Ranch Glendale.
  3. Warm up. First time here? Your warm-up bucket is on us. Bring your own clubs or borrow ours at the desk.
  4. Take your swing at the challenge station in front of the official. One swing per day, so come back tomorrow for another shot.
  5. Miss? Stay and hit. Glendale is a full golf complex: 32 covered Trackman bays with night lights, a 6,000+ sqft all-grass putting green, and Desert Mirage at Golf Ranch, our 9-hole executive course.

If you've been searching for a golf driving range near me anywhere in the West Valley, this is the week to come see the place. The range stays open late every night, so an after-work swing at $10,000 is very doable.

Want to turn that 160-yard swing into something you can repeat? Our coaches run golf lessons at Glendale for golfers at every level, and your first lesson here is a lot less intimidating than you think.

Frequently asked questions

Is the $10K Hole-in-One Challenge really free to enter?
Yes. There's no purchase, no bucket, and no membership required to enter or win. Register online, check in at the desk, and take your swing. Buying something won't improve your odds.

Do I need to be a member to try?
No. Anyone 18 or older who's a legal U.S. resident can enter. Golf Ranch employees, their immediate families, and professional golfers aren't eligible.
The Official Rules cover the full details.

What happens if no one makes the $10K shot?
Then nobody cashes the big check this week. The challenge closes at 10 PM on Sunday, November 8. If the $10K does get claimed Thursday through Saturday, a $2,000 bonus pool unlocks and splits evenly among anyone else who aces it before the close.

Can I enter more than once?
You register once, and that covers all four days. Each registered golfer gets one swing per day, so you can take up to four shots between November 5 and 8.

Is this part of Grand Reopening Week or ongoing?
It's part of Grand Reopening Week at Golf Ranch Glendale and runs November 5 to 8 only. Earlier in the week we ran Dollar Dog Day, Ladies Golf Free, and Kids Golf Free.

The challenge is live through Sunday, November 8: one swing a day, free, at a $10,000 hole. Register for the challenge, get directions on Google Maps, and come hang out at Golf Ranch Glendale.

First time here? Grab a free bucket while you're at it. Win or learn, you'll leave with a better read on your swing.
