Rick Carey is a PGA Associate Golf Professional with over 20+ years in the game and more than 15 years of teaching experience. Rick is passionate about helping students fall in love with the game of golf.
Whether you're picking up a club for the first time or looking to sharpen your skills, Rick's coaching approach blends fun and fundamentals with real-game concepts, swing mechanics, course management, and building confidence.
Rick has worked with women of all ages and handicaps — through private lessons, group lessons, and on-course playing lessons — and coaches local high school golfers. About 30% of his lessons this year have been with women, and he's built a track record of consistently positive feedback from his students.

Yes, and so is the case if you tried golf a while back and lost the thread. The group is mixed-experience, all beginner-friendly. You won't be the only one starting at zero, and you won't be the only one starting over.
No. You don't need to own clubs. Bring your own if you have them. If not, club rentals are available at Lee's Summit for $5 per session.
Life happens. It's totally okay to miss a session and pick back up the following week. That said, the program is designed to build week over week, so we recommend making as many as you can to get the most out of it. Please note that reschedules cannot be accommodated given demand.
Athletic wear is fine. Leggings, shorts, sneakers. No dress code. Golf Ranch isn't a country club.
Yes. Bathrooms at the range, no need to plan ahead.
You'll be ready for your first round. We'll share next-step options including future sessions and on-course rounds as you finish week six.
